Trouble exiting

I'm have trouble with UTorrent 1.8.1 not exiting gracefully. When I try to close the program it stops responding. I then try to end the process but it won't end. I have to reboot or shutdown to close the program and it takes much longer to shutdown.

Zone Alarm.. and Vista. You want it to close, uninstall ZA.

I was running AVG Internet Security but had a problem with the firewall. I un-installed it and when I tried to reinstall it said my key was invalid. That's why I'm using ZA.

As far as Roxio 9 & 10 are concerned, it's hard to distinguish between the two!

You went from a firewall that wouldn't reinstall to one that is KNOWN to be problematic.

ZA doesn't seem to be bothering my connection. Right now I'm running with the Green check mark.

But it doesn't let uTorrent shut down properly on vista.

It's a problem with ZA. There is no known fix from ZA and there probably won't ever be (they don't care to fix it, along with the many system crashes people experience).

Uninstall it and switch to a firewall that works, from vendors that actually care about fixing problems with their software. Comodo firewall is free and works well.
