Inferfire Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 My port is working, because the port tracker is green, however the trackers do not load and on its status it says that the target machine actively refuses to connect. I have checked and disabled all my firewalls, i have read and tried to download slackware (which apparently doesn't need a port to work) and its not working. I have zero seeds, zero connectivity, but on the site where i got the torrent it shows people seeding. I pretty much disabled all firewalls, and im so frustrated. I don't know what to do and have been at this for hours now. This is what the log says:[2008-11-03 19:37:44] IPv6 is installed[2008-11-03 19:42:14] TCP port bind failed 0.0.0.0:3261: (10048) Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted. And how do i check for additional ports that i may have accidently opened? Help?
thelittlefire Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 Ctrl-P > Advanced what do your net.* options look like?
Inferfire Posted November 4, 2008 Author Report Posted November 4, 2008 My net* ? What is that? I recently changed routers this last week, and before that Utorrent was working. Im not sure if that has anything to do with it, i also downloaded avast, but i got rid of that program and deleted it from my computer.
thelittlefire Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 Go where I said, there are options which begin net. What are the values for those options? Are you on Vista?
Inferfire Posted November 4, 2008 Author Report Posted November 4, 2008 yes, on vista, ok her are the options:net.bind_ip (blank)net.calc_overhead falsenet.low_cpu falsenet.max_halfopen 8net.outgoing_ip (blank)net.outgoing_max_port 0net.outgoing_port 0net.upnp_tcp_only falsenet.wsaevents 6Those are all the nets i could find on their... unless your talking about something else.
thelittlefire Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 So which firewall did you turn off? ... That error means something is trying to use the IP:PORT but given the disparate port number, and the fact you don't have anything set for net.bind_ip or net.outgoing_ip (the main reason I asked)... I'm stumped. :/
Inferfire Posted November 4, 2008 Author Report Posted November 4, 2008 I turned off windows firewall, i also have no other firewall or anti virus program (that im aware of), should probably get one, but maybe later. Is there fast way to check which ports are in use and free to stream? (using command prompt and the command netstat or something?) its probably some dumb little detail, but yeah, i've been stuck all of today and for a whole week. Do you know if i have to change the ip or something?
thelittlefire Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 Yeah, netstat is what shows what's active.. but I prefer TCPView available @ http://sysinternals.comThis error ... usually caused by blocked ports, so could you paste a HiJackThis logfile into the thread? Instructions are in the sticky... http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992
Inferfire Posted November 4, 2008 Author Report Posted November 4, 2008 Okay, the torrent is now working. Apparently it was my fault; there were no seeders. So while it was technically downloading, there was nobody to download from. DOH!!! i feel dumb.
jowunger Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 I dont think that no seeder gives that error"TCP port bind failed 0.0.0.0:49155: (10048) Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted."because thats exactly the problem I have for weeks and I don't get any answers...p.s. TCPVIEW doesnt show anything on that port... I use windows 7p.p.s. WHy is the IP address 0.0.0.0 and why does it use IPV6 instead of IPV4?
DreadWingKnight Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 0.0.0.0 is the socket bind function's "Bind to everything" command.
jowunger Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 thanks for fast answer. Still, any port I use, up or down, I get that error. I tried to disable IPV6 and its still using IPV6-instead of IPV4.strange...
