abrogard Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 Tiny little thing, folks. I just wondered if the seeds are included in the peers? 1000 seeds, 10000 peers. Does that mean 1000 people have got it and 10000 are trying to get it or 1000 have got it and 9000 are trying to get it? regards, ab
Ultima Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 1000 complete, 10000 trying to complete. Good question
Switeck Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Those numbers are often misreported...the real number of seeds and peers right now may be as little as 1/10th what's shown.
abrogard Posted November 10, 2008 Author Report Posted November 10, 2008 That's interesting. Why is it so? Explains some puzzling things I've seen, though.
Switeck Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Tracker updates typically happen every hour...in 1 hour's time on small torrents, a peer can become a seed and leave. The tracker may still be reporting that seed for awhile if they disconnected without updating, or peer exchange/DHT may be reporting long-dead peers and seeds for hours or days.
abrogard Posted November 10, 2008 Author Report Posted November 10, 2008 I should have thought of that.... thanks
