how long to seed for (newby)

just started using utorrent & i'm not sure how long to seed for. i think i read somewhere that you should leave it seeding until youve reached a ratio of 1.0

i downloaded something 5 days ago & its only at ratio of 0.744

should i still keep seeding no matter how many days it takes to reach 1.0

please advise if the 1.0 ratio is infact the correct ratio to reach & how many days should you seed for

1.0 means you've uploaded what you've downloaded.

Polite is 1.0 or higher.

I couldnt find the answers I was looking for in the FAQ & search thats why I put my post up. I still dont know if I should keep seeding an item no matter how long it takes to reach 1.0

Also, does seeding slow the pc down.

It depends how you are polite.

You can hit and run (and be a pure leecher) or seed a long time (ratio higher than 1).

Anyway seeding must not slow your PC.
