watkinspv08 Posted November 8, 2008 Report Share Posted November 8, 2008 I just bought a new laptop, unfortunately it has vista SP1. and when i run utorrent i cant run any other programs because utorrent eats up 100% of my resources. its a new core 2 duo 2.4ghz. Ive looked a million places online for help with this but have found nothing. ive never had this problem before. even on my old Pentium 2 and 3 PCs. ive tried reinstalling it and using older versions. it also will not close, and my pc wont shut down if its open. i have to unplug and remove the battery every time i want to close utorrent. task manger wont open either with utorrent running. i get an error opening security console message. if anyone has any ideas please let me knowthanx Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

thelittlefire Posted November 9, 2008 Report Share Posted November 9, 2008 No that's not quite right. Did you have utorrent.exe selected when you created the logfile?I see peerguardian and ZA. ZA must be uninstalled to close uTorrent on Vista unfortunately (you can't just close it when it misbehaves).Also, the log doesn't show uTorrent.exe using the CPU. It's also possible in Vista to apparently create a crashdump from any "hung" process through the right click menu. Uploading that .DMP file might also prove useful.
