» Why not take the last dns name known when trying to resolve an unresolvable IP ? Most of the times it work properly, even if it doesn't work for all IPs, it will anyway be better than keeping a plain IP.

» Why not use the free http service of ip2location :

http://www.ip2location.com/ipcountry.asp?ip=92.12.5.135&acc=demo&pass=demo

Where 92.12.5.135 stand for the IP wanted. It surely is amateur, but it just do what we want : returning the country code in iso format.

» Or even more, why not use the Maxmind GeoIP free (but complete) edition to know which IP are from which country ?
