AppleDragon
» Why not take the last dns name known when trying to resolve an unresolvable IP ? Most of the times it work properly, even if it doesn't work for all IPs, it will anyway be better than keeping a plain IP.» Why not use the free http service of ip2location :http://www.ip2location.com/ipcountry.asp?ip=92.12.5.135&acc=demo&pass=demoWhere 92.12.5.135 stand for the IP wanted. It surely is amateur, but it just do what we want : returning the country code in iso format.» Or even more, why not use the Maxmind GeoIP free (but complete) edition to know which IP are from which country ? moogly
Settings > Advanced > peer.resolve_country = FALSEIn %AppData%\uTorrent, save eng's flags.conf and .bmp from this thread:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=16216#p16216Restart uT.More info:http://www.utorrent.com/faq.php#What_is_flags.conf.3F
AppleDragon
Yes moogly, I just asked how with peer.resolve_country enabled utorrent does to resolve the country, and what's the difference with the custom flags.conf and flags.bmp you can set.Which are the best ? moogly
The best is with eng's flags.conf and .bmp. Because if peer.resolve_country is set to true, µTorrent will use a DNSBL service to determine countries instead which is not the best.In addition, flags are offen updated. AppleDragon
Isn't the DNSBL service more accurate ?
moogly
I think there are more flags with file system.
Firon
The DNSBL is more accurate, but many flags aren't included in µTorrent. For the moment, you can't use peer.resolve_country and a custom flags.bmp.
