PC crashes - Sticky didn't help

While using Utorrent my pc crashes after a random time. It just stops working and does not respond. It doesnt happen when not using Utorrent.

Using windows xp pro. And a multi-core CPU.

Just freezes? Got anything in \Windows\minidumps? See anything in Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer? TCP/IP errors or HDD problems for example. What make/model NIC are you using?

I've got 2 dump files in minidump.

At event viewer I saw this:

In µTorrent go to Perferences > Advanced | Find net.max_halfopen and put it to four, that should stop that limit from being reached. Also place the dump files on mediafire.com.

The wireless card might be having trouble , is it internal or external? Check for/install driver updates for it. You should also try updating to SP3.

It's external (not a default one on MOBO) if that's what you mean with external. Looking for driver update atm.

Not sure what will happen if I update as this windows XP is a version I got with a magazine. Utorrent used to work on this pc.

Keep an eye on the Event Viewer for more 4226 events. Also, the first minidump linked says the crash was caused by your nVidia graphics card driver, so you should check for updates on that, second one says avgtdix.sys which appears to be a part of AVG, so if you have that it could be causing issues as well. What from AVG do you have/have you had installed?

µTorrent is a user-mode program, that means it's only triggering something else that's screwing things up, if you don't figure it you can still have problems later on

When you say error occurred again, do you mean the PC froze again? Did you get any more 4226 events in the Event Viewer?

Pc froze again yes, No errors in event viewers but I did get a warning that it has reached its maximum attempts.

Are you running a lot of network accessing programs? Try setting halfopen in µTorrent to 2, even 1.

I think your best bet is to temporarily uninstall AVG for testing since it caused a crash previously , could try that patch I posted above first though, might stabilize things.
