carmenm Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 I really do like the RSS downloader especially because i can automatically set a label to the torrents which is very practical. The one problem with it is that some rss dont have direct link to torrents. So sometimes i have to manually add a torrent. Right now when i do that i then have to update the filter, which is quite annoying when you have 20 filters...What i really would like is for the filter to be updated when i manually add a torrent. That way my filters would stay in sync with what i have really downloaded. What do you think?
thelittlefire Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 You mean by changing the episode bounds? No, I don't think this is possible WITHOUT intervention.. RSS is automatic, so if you manually do something how do you expect it to know you did something?Am I correct in guessing you're referring to smart episode filter function?
carmenm Posted November 11, 2008 Author Report Posted November 11, 2008 yes i am referring to smart episode filter. Let s say the last episode matched is 4x06. The 4x07 is out but not available on the rss i check with the rss downloader. So i download it manually. what I would like is that when i add it, utorrent check the name, sees it s the next episode to download then just update the last episode matched. So that next week it looks for 4x08 and not 4x07.
Burningmace Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 If this were to be implemented I would expect uTorrent to ask me if I wanted to add it to the smart episode filter.i.e:I subscribe to a set of episodes, uTorrent auto-downloads.Episode 12x08 isn't published on the RSS yet but I download it manually. When I add it to the list, uTorrent detects that it matches the smart episode filter that was set for the RSS and asks me if I want to mark this episode as downloaded so that it doesn't download again when it becomes available on the RSS.This way the user has control over false positives, and also allows the user to download a low quality pre-release if they are desperate to see something, but still allow the RSS downloader to get the full quality release later.
carmenm Posted November 19, 2008 Author Report Posted November 19, 2008 I think that would be great. What does the utorrent team think?
Firon Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 It's not a bad idea, but I'm not quite sure of a good way to do it.
