batezy84
This may seem obvious to alot of you but I had a few issues of utorrent hanging and not allowing me to download more than 5kb a sec. This problem was caused by my blocked udp/tcp ports. The settings on utorrent are unable to sort them as it is an issue with Norton. On the new 2009 version go into:INTERNET - SETTINGS - INTERNET SETTINGS - SMART FIREWALL - ADVANCED SETTINGS - CONFIGURE - GENERAL RULES - CONFIGURE.DEFAULT ALLOW WINDOWS FILE SHARING (SHARED NETWORKS) DIRECTION: INBOUND COMPUTER: ANY, COMMUNICATIONS: SPECIFIC PROTOCOL TCP AND UDP - ***make sure set to ALLOW.***DEFAULT BLOCK WINDOWS FILE SHARING (SHARED NETWORKS) DIRECTION: INBOUND COMPUTER: ANY, COMMUNICATIONS: SPECIFIC PROTOCOL TCP AND UDP TRACKING: CREATE A LOG ENTRY -*** make sure set to ALLOW.***DEFAULT BLOCK UPNP DISCOVERY ***MAKE SURE SET TO MONITOR***this worked for me instantly - no more trouble. Default Port is set to 8080 (any suggestions for a faster port??) with AOL.***P.S i found even if you turn the Norton firewall off this does not cure the hanging the above settings need to be considered***
