Change contents existing torrent

Hi all,

Is it possible to change the contents of an existing torrent, or do I have to publish a new torrent with the required files?

e.g. I found a way to increase quality of somefiles, or just want to update a specific directory by adding new files. Is it okay to add / change the files or do I have to create (and announce) a new torrent?
