torrents wont connect to seeds or peers, port not forwarded properly

i cannot downlod anything on utorrent or any other torrent client. when i check if port is forwarded properly it says it is not. this happens with every port i try. its driving me mad i havent got any idea what is the problem with it. im living in student accomadation so i cant forward the port cause i dont know what the router is...... if i use limewire i can download files i find on limewire but if i try a torrent it wont work no matter how many seeds there is.....

(Most colleges/universities go to GREAT lengths to block BitTorrent traffic.)

Does proxying tracker updates help?

Tried a VPN?

You won't have an easy solution most likely short of getting REAL internet access, instead of filtered/blocked lite internet.
