obperryo Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 I am uploading a file and the upload seems to be limited to 1/3 of my upload speed. My max upload speed is 125kBs (comcast). So, one file uploads at 41.6kBs. I can add two other files for each will upload at 41.6kBs. Why won't the single file upload at 125kBs?Currently I can transfer my file 3 times faster if I split the file in 3 and make 3 torrents. Is there a way to get the single file to use the full 125kBs? I would rather not have to split the file.I am saving the file on my hard drive and creating the torrent to my IP and sending the torrent over the ocean so the other person can connect and download the file, so there is only one seed (me) and one peer (friend).I read a little about initial seeding, but dont' fully undestand it just yet. Anyone know if this could help imporve the transfer speed.. I think I might have to have another peer, of which I could do.I wonder if this 1/3 could be a comcast limit on a single file??
Ultima Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 So um... Comcast actually offers 1mbit/s upload rates?
