manys Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 This may be a minor quibble or grammar flame to some (or many!), but instead of saying "double posts are not allowed," how about making it more clear by saying "submitting two posts in a row is not allowed?" My experience is that a "double post" is the same post as a previous one, resubmitted.
moogly Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Classic warning on boards. Nothing to change. Edit your last post if you want to add stg.
thelittlefire Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 He's right you know moogly. Many people try to "bump" threads, this is not allowed on this forum. Editing the post allows it to be bumped in any case, allowing people interested to stay appraised of anyone's reported situation.
Lord Alderaan Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 The definition varies so there is no 100% correct one.One considers it to mean identical (pressed Submit twice) post, while others feel it has to involve some evaluation of whether pressing the edit button wasn't the more appropriate action. Others feel it also includes two similar posts in the same topic. Here it fairly obviously means two posts in a row regardless of content. No reason to change it.http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=double%20post
