price1957
Hiutorrent used to work fine, both upload and download, running at 20 and 55 kB/s respectively. I have recently changed my ISP to talktalk from Toucan and it is either coincidence but, all has now gone awry. Now the upload speed still runs at the capped value of 20ish, but DL rarely goes above 1-5kB/s. What could cause this to happen & just as importantly, how can I restore my DL performance. Thanks.P.S. i apologise if I'm asking the same question again, though this seems inevitable in the 'speed problems' section....
thelittlefire
TalkTalk isn't so nice to torrenting Best suggestion, lower settings, possibly use http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=34259 and disable unused functions mentioned @ http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992ALSO, asking for your local/ISP-wide shaping or traffic control policies would be a good idea. A search for Toucan didn't come up with many isp-nterference results.
price1957
thanks for the input. I have DL the latest version version (1.8.1) and disabled those reocmmneded functions and changed my DL/UL settings as recommended in the first article. I'm not running just 13kB/s UL. I'll restat utorrent and see if it makes any difference (though I fear it is all due to my ISP). the weird thing is that very occasionally i can get my max DL speed of 55 - this surely suggests either an unstable connection or ISP throttling????
