mishkin11
after downloading for a long time at around 300-400Kps lately my speed has dropped to 40-80Kps per torrent, so if i download 5-6 torrents speed does build up to almost same numbers, but never more than 80Kps (and even then only for moments). i think i've tried everything, from tweaking u\d speeds to disabling DHT, but nothing seems to work, and its getting annoying.any ideas? Firon
Are you running 1.8.1? Follow the setup guide again. http://www.utorrent.com/setup_guide.php

Firon
Torrent speeds are not necessarily consistent. Like I said, follow the setup guide again.See if you can max out your speeds on a torrent from here. http://www.slackware.com/getslack/torrents.php

mishkin11
disabling DHT seems to make it worse, the rest dont seem to really have an effectsuddenly up to 150-180, but about 70% from one seeder, and then he goes down as well... Switeck
Your ISP is probably hostile to BitTorrent traffic...or any international traffic for that matter.
mishkin11
but then how come it CAN build up speed with the right seeds? and why where things fine a month ago? and upload is always at max...
Switeck
Simple, the "right" seeds are quite possibly ips that your ISP doesn't outright cripple.International traffic or outside-of-region traffic is the most likely to get throttled.Upload is a LOT easier to max than download, as you usually have far less of it AND even a single local ip can max it out.
