1stLoner
Hey, I've read a few other posts, but I still can't seem to figure out my problem.uTorrent is suddenly using a lot of space on my hard drive. I notice that it seems to be taking up more space than the actual size of the file. I've tried to delete the .torrent file thinking that would free up some space... but it doesn't. Is it saving some temporary files somewhere that I can delete? Thanks in advance.
Firon
It shouldn't be taking up any more space than the actual files. But if you had incomplete torrents from 1.8 still being downloaded in 1.8.1, it will consume more space. In 1.8, all files were created as sparse, so they didn't actually take up all the disk space when allocated. The option is off in 1.8.1, but all previously existing files would still be sparse. thelittlefire
If you want an easy way to "fix" sparse files, copy the data, remove the original and move the copy back to the original's place.. no differences between "size" and "size on disk" in properties now
