Syn_Tzu
I've searched for this problem and couldn't find it so if I missed it somewhere, my appologies.I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate x64 SP 1 on an AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core 3800+ with 2 gigs of RAM, and use uTorrent 1.8.1 (12639). The crash occurs when I'm not working on anything, both while sitting idle and when screensaver is engaged. It occurs when I have other programs running, or just uTorrent. If I'm not at the comp usually the only other programs (other than background) running are WWW Fileshare, and Yahoo messenger. I run ESET Smart Security 3.0.657.0. I had been having a crash about every week to two weeks before I upgraded to the current ver. of uTorrent I'm using now and upgraded my Video driver and software. I have an ATI Radeon X1300/1550 and am running the newest driver and Catalyst Control Center (Driver ver. 8.541.0.0, CCC ver. 2008.0923.2139.36956). This is the first crash I've had since the updates, thought they had fixed it. It's been about 2 weeks. Please help if you can, thanks.Crash dump:BugCheck D1, {fffffa800e10b000, 2, 0, fffffa8005f02b5b}Probably caused by : pacer.sys ( pacer!PcFilterSendNetBufferLists+3b3 )Followup: MachineOwner---------0: kd> !analyze -v******************************************************************************** ** Bugcheck Analysis ** ********************************************************************************DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at aninterrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. Firon
pacer.sys is built into Vista, so it's not the actual driver crashing... more than likely, it's your NIC drivers. Look for updates for it.You may also need to uninstall ESET.
Syn_Tzu
Okay, I'll search for updated nic drivers. Uninstall ESET? I hope to hell not. It's the first firewall/AV I've found that has a small footprint, allows total control over, and doesn't make Vista go ape s**t. I can't wait for 7, Vista is too damned buggy.
