viagna
What would be optimal µTorrent settings for cable 1,5 mbit up/down internet connection? I tried to follow the guide posted here, but my download speed slowed and does not go above 10Kb/s. I have Network Ok message flashing all the time, and my ISP does not block incoming traffic. I disabled both my Windows ICP firewall, and McAffee firewall to no awail.
Firon
So you have 1.5mbit symmetrical?
viagna
That's what my ISP declares, and tests confirm.
Firon
Well, Options -> Speed Guide, choose the 2mbit setting, then go into Network Options and change your upload cap to 135.
viagna
I changed the settings as you advised. The upload rate increased considerably, the download rate is still flat, but a bit higher - around 15 Kbit
Firon
How many seeders/peers are there in the swarm?

00
Try one of the OpenOffice.org torrents and see what happens.
Firon
Well, I wouldn't expect good speeds from such a torrent, especially if the seeders are slow.
viagna
Well, I finally got my speed back. What ailed it was a McAfee firewall, that was still blocking 32459 even though I opened the port and disabeled the firewall. I had to uninstall it to make things work. Thank you everyone for helpful comments that allowed me to slve this problem.
