I've stumbled upon the following issue: When using the Right click -> Remove and -> Delete [.torrent + ] data, uTorrent falls into the file deletion loop and freezes all other operations i.e. all transfers are forcibly on hold, the window does not respond.

I suppose it'd be all right, but it takes it about 1 (one!) second to delete one damn single file! It looks like it happens on timer or something. Now imagine some, ahem, scene download with 50+ files, and you can just about imagine my suffering.

All is fine if i delete files by hand, meaning there's no apparent drive or OS issue as far as I see.

uTorrent 1.8.1.12639, XP x64 SP2, Q6700, 4GB, two SATA drives with NTFS

edit: BTW I'm perfectly fine with testing some sort of developer version with excessive logging or any other debug features. If anyone is bothered to build one :D

Instead of starting a new post about a similar issue that I was having, I am going to post here:

When going to Remove -> Delete Data (or delete torrent and data) uTorrent will sieze up for a few seconds as it deletes the files. The operation takes much longer than it should. i.e. I can delete a 4gb download from explorer in 2 seconds but it takes uTorrent between 15-20. (This is for a 4gb download--the time increases with the download size and takes longer if you're removing multiple items at once).

Looking at my DU Meter, I did notice that the process is so cpu intensive that the downloads slow to crawl while they're being removed and I am unable to do most other operations on my computer (as opposed to a deleting files in explorer which can be done in the background).

This is a fresh install of Win 7 with a SSD main drive and 2tb download drive. I've been using uTorrent for years and have always noticed this issue (with different systems) but thought that everyone knew about it so I never bothered reporting it. Tonight I did a search for the issue and didn't find any mention of the issue except for this thread.
