ties17 Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Hello guys. I`ve just installed wireless Internet here and I`m having trouble making uTorrent work. I have cable modem internet with dynamic ip and I`ve always used utorrent like that and never had a problem. But now, with the router, it won`t download anything, and when I test the ports, it says they need to be forwarded. In the portforwarding.com says that I will need a static IP... but how come I used before with a dynamic IP and it worked ? (of course, no router involved then.. ) Is there a way to just forward the ports without having to mess with the dynamic ip ? My router is d-link dir-300thanks!P.S. I just noticed it is actually downloading, but it`s slow... so it means it actually works with dynamic, right ?
thelittlefire Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 The router is now functioning as your connection to the internet. Previously your computer was directly connected. The router needs to have rules for YOUR IP on YOUR PORT.If your router supports UPnP you can enable it on the router and in the Preferences, and the rule will be added each time you start uT.
