Terryj Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 HI there,uTorrent 1.8.1 build 12639 - WinXP SP3I have 2 torrents running, one downloading, one uploading.I have found that when I individually reduce the download speed of the first, the upload speed of the second is also reduced. The uploading one would be sitting at around 45kB/s almost a straight line until I reduce the download speed of the downloading torrent. Any clues?
Switeck Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 If you're changing the download speed max for the individual torrent instead of global download speed max...this sounds like a SERIOUS bug!
Terryj Posted November 23, 2008 Author Report Posted November 23, 2008 Globals are all set to max - I was expecting u/l torrent to increase speed a little
Ultima Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Not to deny that this is happening to you, but I haven't been able to reproduce such a behavior.
Switeck Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 What settings are you using, as shown by the Speed Guide (CTRL+G) window?Too few or many upload slots and connections max might be making the problem worse.
Terryj Posted December 6, 2008 Author Report Posted December 6, 2008 Hi,I've played around with the settings but it does not seem to make much difference - eg, at the moment I have 1 U/L and 1 D/L torrent, the U/L is 23-25 KB/s and the D/L is around 200KB/s. I have just reduced the D/L to 30Kb/s and the U/L has dropped to 2KB/s after resetting D/L speed to unlimited they both go back to original speeds. I have 50+ completed torrents but usually one 1 is actually U/L'ding at any one time.
Terryj Posted December 7, 2008 Author Report Posted December 7, 2008 I read all 4 guides - generally they are talking about slow speeds. I don't have that problem, my U/L and D/L speeds are what I expect. I don't know if this problem has been around for any length of time as it is only recently I have had to reduce speed of some d/l's to ensure my u/l's were getting thru' OK (and I do have seeding tasks as higher priority - I've also tried turning that option off to see if it would make any difference - as with virtually every other option and setting to see if anything would change the behavior). Today's settings are u/l slots 8 (5-50)conns /torrent 15 ( 5-50)max active 50 (5-100)u/l slots 8 (5-100)conns glob 95 (20-400)max d/ls 5 (2-100)the figures in paranthesis are the range I have tried during testingCheersTerry
