revnice Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Gentlemen:1) That little download icon (just left of the filename) why is it sometimes red? Isn't is supposed to be blue?2) What do the numbers in paren mean in the Seeds and Peers columns? i.e. Seeds 3 (275) Peers 85 (1256)3) Why do I sometimes have NO information under any of the tabs? (General, Peers, Pieces, Files, etc)4) Why (not often) does my downspeed get better as Seeds drop off? Thanks - rev
moogly Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 1/ Read the FAQhttp://www.utorrent.com/faq.php#What_do_the_red_icons_mean_on_the_torrent_status_icons.3F2/ Seeds & peers reported by the tracker.3/ Because surely your pointer was on a deleted torrent job and tabs stay empty.4/ One seeder can be more gentle in UL speed than 50!
revnice Posted November 23, 2008 Author Report Posted November 23, 2008 moogly:Thanks - except 2 and 3.2) if the number in paren is the number of seeds then what's the number before the paren?i.e. Seeds 3 (275) Peers 85 (1256) one of the numbers is the Seeds and Peers - what's the other number? 3/ Because surely your pointer was on a deleted torrent job and tabs stay empty. No, that's the funny thing. I'm currently downloading the Hatton vs Malignaggi fight and it's going fine except there's no info at all under any of the tabs. And a deleted torrent vanishes from the user interface...
moogly Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 2/ XXX (YYY) for seeds e.g.XXX = number of seeds connected to your clientYYY = number of seeds reported by the tracker (stats)3/ Because you did surely a "bad" movement like right click in white background on uT main window or stg like that.uT always displays info related to the torrent in Tabs.
Ultima Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Click the torrent then if you find the General tab empty?
revnice Posted November 23, 2008 Author Report Posted November 23, 2008 >uT always displays info related to the torrent in Tabs.It wasn't but it is now. It took a long time for info to appear though, not until the torrent was 20% done did I see any info. On 2, why would those numbers be different? Tracker error? It would be cool if they were all connected to me!Thanks for all your help!rev
moogly Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 It's not a tracker error, when your client contacts the tracker, you receive a part of the peer list. But there is no interest to be connected to all peers because your ADSL connection / modem / wifi card (etc...) could be overloaded. In addition a huge swarm doesn't imply a better DL speed. The size doesn't do the speed. If you know a fast peer, you can try to add it in peer tab, that's all.
