acromedian Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Hello,I have been having issues with my software. A few days ago, my signal was green, and things were great. Now there is the yellow sign, and I have no signal. It is telling me I have to open a port. I had looked into the process in the help area, and it seems very complicated. Is there a simpler way that I am missing? Does anyone know why it goes in and out of signal. My network has always been at full strength, so I am certain it is not my internet. Any help would be great.ThanksAcromedian
Ultima Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Are you actually downloading/uploading anything?http://www.slackware.com/torrentsDoes it occur with torrents from here running?
acromedian Posted November 23, 2008 Author Report Posted November 23, 2008 Yes, I was downloading at the time. I will check that site right now. What is the difference if I am downloading? Is there something I can do to change it back to green?
Ultima Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Well, the network status light displays the connection status based on the incoming connections it receives (or lack thereof). If µTorrent sees an incoming connection, then it knows it isn't firewalled, so it shows a green circle. If otherwise, it might show yellow or red depending on how obvious it is that it is firewalled (yellow simply means it isn't sure, since it's simply not receiving incoming connections).
