Oscillating Download

First let my apologise up front if my spelling may be bad because english isn't my motherlanguage. ^^

I have an interresting problem with my download speed: It keeps oscillating in 1 minute intervals. This means if I have let's say 300kb dl 1 minute then it drops to 50-100kb dl and after an average of 10 seconds speeds up again. Can this have to do something with my router or systemconfig?

Any help is appreciated ^^

Greetings Saphire

So in that case I would have to lower the limit to match my upload speed.

if I understand it right utorrent also displays downloadrates of each torrents in byte p sec. But how can I get uploadrates of 50 bytes per sec if my line can only upload 270 bites which are roughly 34 bytes per sec? can this be due to downloadspeed-fluctuations?

Anyway if lowering the limit is the key which limit would I have to chose then?

Thanks again!

Edit: I changed the settings acording to the recommended settings found in your sig Switek. Seems problem is now solved, it still oscillates but only +-10byte/sec which is way better than 100-200byte/sec.

New settings are 22 kbyte/sec DL-limit. If theres anything else that needs to be changed please tell me. But I can live with that performance. ^^

Edit from Dezember, 8. : I've been downloading the last weeks with the above settings and performance is quite good (500kb down most the time) but the last few downloads I've been noticing the oscilation again. Every Minute DL-speed drops 200kb and rises after 30 seconds to full speed and then drops again. Performance isn't quite the problem now, but I'm curious why this fluctuation happens. If anybody has an idea I would be happy. ;)
