eisa01
So, I first want to say thanks for the mac beta! Now, is the engine shared between the versions, or did you code a new one for the mac? I'm wondering because I just read about the new uTP stuff, and it would be nice if we mac folks would get the same features as the windows people without a delay. Also, is the goal to achieve feature parity with the windows version? thelittlefire
It's a port of the CORE including new eye candy for the OS X interface. Not all features work, prime example, try looking at all the columns.. which are included, but are relatively useless at this point. It doesn't have everything... and remember, uTorrent started as Windows, and as such presumably it would be a better idea for you to keep aware of Windows development.. to try newest features during the dev cycle for 1.9WINE isn't that difficult to use. silentbobie
littlefire have you tried the official beta that was just release? As the columns all work for me.
thelittlefire
Your build doesn't show "unsupported column 'hasherr'" when you try to enable it in the Peers tab? I haven't yet received my invite for the "official" build correct.
eisa01
You don't need an invite to the beta, it's located at http://mac.utorrent.com/beta/I have the hasherr column, don't see anything wrong with it.and remember, uTorrent started as WindowsI'm perfectly aware of that, I'm member #142 on these forums
silentbobie
Nope it works for me just fine. http://mac.utorrent.com/beta
NoOneButMe
thelittlefire: It sounds like you're using one of the leaked builds instead of the official release. That's a bad thing to do as the leaks are incomplete and contain problems (such as the one you've mentioned).
thelittlefire
As far as that then I'll wait for my invite to get the beta before commenting Thank you noonebutme.
eisa01
There is no invite, just go to the url posted earlier in the thread.
thelittlefire
I was under the impression ... why else would you "sign up" to be alerted in the future with an e-mail address if there was to be no announcement VIA that e-mail address
eisa01
Feature parity Additionally, any features already in the windows version that are not windows-only should be considered on the to-do list.
NoOneButMe
There was an email sent to the people who signed up notifying them of the existence of this beta.
thelittlefire
I signed up the day mac.utorrent.com went up, and have yet to receive an email. I am updating to the current build after tonight's downloads finish
Calcadium
Just because uTorrent started out as Windows, I really do not think they will underprioritize the Mac-version. I am using the official build for Mac, and I'm loving it already!!
antikorr
And I still can't use it, because I'm still stuck at work. %-))))) As soon as I come home, uTorrent will surely ascend the throne of my favourite applications. ;-) OMG, I just can't wait anymore!!!
