kjk Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 Yes, PPC build is much less stable than Intel. We have reports of it working on some machines and reports of it not working on some machines. Trying to figure out what is common among PPC that don't work.
morpe Posted November 28, 2008 Author Report Posted November 28, 2008 well! how can I help you? What information do you need?
kjk Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 It would be helpful to know the exact os version and hardware overview for the machines that have the problem. That can be gotten via apple menu "About this mac" and then clicking "More info" button and copy&paste "Hardware Overview" part. E.g. my machine info is: Model Name: MacBook Model Identifier: MacBook5,1 Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 3 MB Memory: 4 GB Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz Boot ROM Version: MB51.0073.B02 SMC Version: 1.32f6

realdiamond Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 Model Name: PowerBook G4 15" Model Identifier: PowerBook5,8 Processor Name: PowerPC G4 (1.5) Processor Speed: 1.67 GHz Number Of CPUs: 1 L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 1 GB Bus Speed: 167 MHz Boot ROM Version: 4.9.6f0 Serial Number: WxxxxxxxxxxZ (edited) Sudden Motion Sensor: State: EnabledWorks on this G4 every thing but Encryption, found a bug with Encryption, if its on it disconnects peers that are only leeching from me so can't seed.
zorro23 Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 OS: 10.5.5 Model Name: Power Mac G4 (Digital Audio) Model Identifier: PowerMac3,4 Processor Name: PowerPC G4 (3.3) Processor Speed: 1.47 GHz Number Of CPUs: 1 L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB L3 Cache (per CPU): 2 MB Memory: 1 GB Bus Speed: 133 MHz Boot ROM Version: 4.2.8f1After starting uTorrent and adding some torrent files for download, download is not starting. uTorrent is showing all info about those torrents: number of seeds, number od peers, peers info, number of files, size of files... So it seems like everything is OK, but download is just not starting at all. Info about Tracker is changing every two seconds between http and udp. This is example for torrent from piratebay:Tracker: udp://tracker.thepiratebay.org:80/announceand then Tracker: http://tracker.thepiratebay.org/announceand over and over again every two seconds...Update:I have manage to get some torrents begin download after I turned on "Automatically map port (using NAT-PMP or UPnP)" in Network options. Yellow indicator on the bottom right of uTorrent became green after that. uTorrent is not rembering this preference when I quit uTorrent, so I have to turn it on every time I start it.Transfer speed is very slow and number of connections with peers/seeds isn't comparable with Vuze or Transmission.
f3rodieman Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 Hardware Overview: Machine Name: PowerBook G4 15" Machine Model: PowerBook5,4 CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.1) Number Of CPUs: 1 CPU Speed: 1.5 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 2 GB Bus Speed: 167 MHz Boot ROM Version: 4.8.6f0uTorrent won't even open, it pops up and down on the dock for a second or two then closes. Hope this helps, I really hate azureus since it switched to Vuze, so sluggish and system intensive.
morpe Posted December 9, 2008 Author Report Posted December 9, 2008 Version 0.9.0.2 (13691) shows the seed and peer present but did not connect to any of them :°°
CatClaus Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Howdy, just downloaded 0.9.0.2... it bounces once in the dock but doesn't run.Hardware Overview: Machine Name: iMac G5 Machine Model: PowerMac12,1 CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (3.1) Number Of CPUs: 1 CPU Speed: 2.1 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 512 MB Bus Speed: 700 MHz Boot ROM Version: 5.2.6f1BitTorrent works OK for me, taking less than 10% CPU for 3 simultaneous downloads for example, was just looking at the alternatives... thanks for bring uTorrent to the Mac OS.Update >>> Forgot to mention, running 10.4.11.-Rick
Ultima Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 GUYS, Tiger support is not there yet. If you are running Tiger, then you shouldn't expect it to work at all. µTorrent Mac currently supports Leopard only, though Tiger support is being worked on.
