DreadWingKnight
No there isn't.It's probably time you switched ISPs anyway.
violentj
what would be a good one that would actually allow me to keep uploading?
DreadWingKnight
Depends on what's available in your area.Did they specify WHY they would terminate your service if you kept uploading?
violentj
they just said they have some clause in the contract the "forbids" sharing copyrighted material.
DreadWingKnight
How can they validate the claims without violating rights to privacy?
violentj
that's what i'd like to know. the last provider i had did it too. they flagged my account & dropped my speeds dramatically because of it. now i have this one. pretty much stuck & don't know what to do at this point...other than like you said: find a new ISP that will allow it. violentj
i'll have to pass that along. it doesn't specify anything about privacy violation though. do you happen to have anything pertaining to that?
tgp
sorry to ask a silly question , i am new to this..what is upoading? and where is it uploading to? its 1 thng that i download but what am i uploading and to where? and does the upload effect my internet speed?thank u for ur help
violentj
uploading is basically when you put what you are downloading back onto the internet for other people to download from you. sometimes it can effect your speed. i've found that it all depends on what provider you have. i may be slightly off-base tho. i have a firm enough grasp on it for myself, but i don't know all of the specifics to pass on to other people. zopfan
Even when you're surfing normally, at that time also some uploading is going on.
