Scollos
I have downloaded many movies/music and never gotten in trouble. After downloading a movie the other day, my internet was frozen and i received a message about uploading movies being illegal, or something to that effect, and that there's a $250,000 for doing so. My internet is back up with no problem, but I'm not sure what I did differently that caused this to happen. Any advice?
thelittlefire
Consult a lawyer... regarding the intricacies of DMCA law as pertaining to local IP and civil vs. criminal law.
Scollos
I'm not being fined, and my internet is back on like nothing happened, so I'm not worried about that. I just want to know what I did that caused me to be flagged like that so I don't wind up doing it again.
Switeck
Consider what you were downloading/uploading, that was probably why you were flagged.
ShadowTek
Don't download recent releases. That's what you hear people getting busted for, so stay away from them. There's plenty of good older vids out there.
Meat_Puppet
If I were you I wouldn't download ANYTHING for awhile. Your IP has your account flagged and will be watching you.

tomgarner
I'm w/ Cable One (the only provider in my area), and unfortunately, I was snagged for d/led a copy of a TV show. I sent an irate e-male to CableOne stating my beliefs and they restated theirs and reconnected me... sigh... only 1/2 year before I move... thank the gods!
