thelittlefire
Your router should be listed @ http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm (search in browser WL54 and it should pop up.Port forwarding doesn't usually work on IPs within the DHCP range, so it's recommended to be sure about that, if you can't check... 150-250 are generally free. Be sure you have the correct PORT for the correct IP in the forwarding rule.
blackbirdydb
Well DHCP is 100-200. And i cannot find right port. Did as portforward.com was shown.EDIT: Now i did something and green light was on and after few minutes turned into yellow warning mark. But shows that port is closed. And speed is 80kb sec. FARNUM
i'm having the same situation. when you say your dhcp is 100-200 what do you mean? are you guys just talking about the last 3 digits? is my static ip supposed to be just outside of the dhcp range? my range says 10 to 254. does that mean i should be setting my static ip to be like 9 or 255? thelittlefire
Indeed. The IP Address is 4 digits, with consumer routers, that is generally in the form of 192.168.0.X IT can also be 192.168.1.X. The last digit is all that matters due to the other numbers, and all routers usually allow you to fill in for port forwarding rules. IF your DHCP range is 10-254, you can only use 1-9 for manual, static IPs.@blackbirdydb As long as it doesn't go red, you should be OK now.. I think. If you just test http://slackware.com/torrents/ for 2-5 minutes does the light go green? It's the most expedient way I can think of. You can of course remove and trash the data, the test is used since the seeds on there are fast and reliable.
FARNUM
thanks for the clarification. so i've got it set at 9 for my static ip, but when i go through utorrent to check if the port is forwarded properly, it says it is not. and the icon is the orange exclamation point.
