tfaltys
helloo.. some days ago i suddenly started noticing that all my downloads are limited to the speed stated above (max) even though i was able to achieve about 1500 kB/s before, i dont remember doing something that might have affected this... oh and by the way my upload speed seems to be limited to something like this too even though i have'nt paid much attention to that. also, i've tried bitcomet, vuze and now utorrent.. they all have the same problem and i can tell its a problem with my torrent client because when i try download something off the net the normal way it can go up to 500kB/s and so but my torrent will still be capped at that 100-110 kB/s and wont be bothered by anything else and if i try to download multiple torrents they will all share that speed & wont go higher than a total speed of the 100-110..i've tried doing everything pretty muchport forwarding - checkvarious advices from the net - check and so on...please help, i've got no idea what else i could do im running windows vista 64 bitwhyyyyy wont anyone replyy
Switeck
1st and 2nd links in my signature.DISABLE: UPnP, NAT-PMP, LPD, DHT (both kinds!), and Resolve IPs (right-click in PEERS window on an active torrent).Keep Peer Exchange enabled...it should be encrypted if your peer/seed connections are encrypted.Choose Enabled or FORCED encryption outgoing, and disable legacy (unencrypted) connections incoming. You might want to experiment with allowing incoming legacy (unencrypted) connections to see if that's a little faster. tfaltys
ok thanks ill see how that works outupdate: your suggestions didnt help.. im awfully sorry that i didnt notice the "FOR ALL LINKSYS WRT54G/GL/GS USERS WITH PROBLEMS" sticky because i have a wrt54gl myself however im confused because i also use a certain program known as dc++ which is also p2p but this problem doesnt apply to that program, only torrent clients so.. is it still the routers fault or might it be something else? again i apologize, i know i shouldnt complain etc and w/e is said there but please tell me

Switeck
Your ISP probably cripples Torrent speeds. And that's not your router's fault.Btw, did you get a green light in uTorrent?
tfaltys
yes I've got a green light (forwarded manually and all that) but my point is a few days ago, probably more than a week now, it worked alright and i got good speeds, that was with bitcomet though and when i started having these problems i tried switching to utorrent but seeing as it has the same problem i'm asking here. ahh just just driving me mad. but ok even if it is the isp, is there anything i can do about this? well except changing isp... because i did that recently already.update: i dont know if this helps but recently i started a torrent and to my amazement it went to like 200-400 kB/s and then i decided to mess around with options and in the torrent properties i enabled initial seeding and DHT which were disabled before and it reseted the speed and it didnt go above 100 again.. nor has it ever since even when i changed the options back to normal
delazoul
I got same problem...i used utorrent since the begining of time and i had great speeds with it but since last weeks something happened @@@@ !! I dont get more than 30kb/s and all torrents are sharing that speed. If i am downloading something of the internet with my browser i get high speed up to 600 kb/s. Is extremely weird, i reset my router, tried disabling, enabling everything on utorrent but still the same. Is unbelievable how mad this thing got me !!!!!!! If is from my ISP(whuch is Bell Sympatico) i am gona sue those assholes !!Please anyone know the solution help me up...

Switeck
They may not throttle as much outside of 6 PM to midnight.

tfaltys
sorry that i haven't been here in a while but.. you see i tried every kind of connection/bandwidth and whatever setups but my problem persists. according to www.speedtest.net i can upload at about 3500 Kb/s so.. no less than 300 kB/s so capping it to 90 doesn't help but nvm about that since it still doesn't go higher than 100, ever... sorry if this isn't the place i should ask but i don't know where else, you see I've also experienced problems in games (specifically wow - ping randomly jumping to 2000 and then going back to normal in a while) and now my internet speed and ping seem to be jumping up and down. sometimes at these "downs" i can even be disconnected and my speed might go to 0.5 KB/s or 0 so i suppose its something with my connection or maybe ISP. What might be the problem? again i remind that all this just suddenly happened a little while ago. I didn't change any settings or do anything. Please help, thank you for your help and tolerance by the way.
Switeck
tfaltys,Ask locally about what's up with your ISP. If you don't know anyone who has it...ask at a local electronics/computer store or internet cafe.delazoul,Rogers Cable ISP is WORSE than Bell Canada IMO. They throttle encrypted connections of ALL kinds.Try finding a 3rd party ADSL company. They'll probably be equally throttled as Bell...but at least you won't be giving Bell so much money. Switeck
Ask around locally, do some research. But generally the BIG ISPs are the worst.
