uTorrent Freezes after 20-30 seconds on Vista 32bit

Hi,

I've been running uTorrent for a year or two now. Currently I'm on version 1.81 and unfortunately it freezes after about 30 seconds of use. I try to close the program and the interface will close, but it stays running in the back ground. Task manager won't close it -- I have to reboot to fix that.

So I went and found a few old versions, thinking this new one was broken as it's been a while since I needed to download something and wasn't sure at what point it stopped working. I tried all 1.7 versions and all do the same thing, so I went back to 1.6 and it works fine.

What could be the cause that 1.7 - 1.81 don't work but 1.6 does? Does uTorrent rely on any windows vista services I may have disabled?

Thanks for any suggestions, would really like to get 1.81 working again.

Going to old versions isn't really troubleshooting.

Post a hijackthis log and process explorer process list with dll list for the utorrent.exe process please.
