General UI Suggesions

Making the UI completely Mac-like was the most talked about thing in the previous thread. I had posted my own mockup there and I have improved it so I'd like to show it.

In this mockup I've improved the info pane. I removed the segmented control from the status bar and added it to the top of the info pane. I made the tabs look like the iPod info section tabs but I made them fit in with the style of the info pane. I've also made the capacity bar switchable between overall and pieces (It works like the Safari Web Inspector).

I know some people in the previous thread that uTorrent:Mac show as much info as the Windows version and not care about the eye candy. But with Mac apps I think it's important to show off data in the best looking way possible.

Any suggestions are more than welcome.

While this isn't perfect, I think it's a large improvement on the current interface. It actually feels like a Mac application instead of a sloppy "screw the Mac way" Windows port.

My only suggestion would be to change the glyph on the Stop button to a solid silhouette of a stop sign.

as it appears you're going for the complete finder/itunes makeover, maybe the bottom bar could display the global statistics, such as the total amount dl'd/ul'd in µTorrent and also the total amount of time the application has been running. basically the stuff from the statistics window on the windows version.

eg, "297 torrents, 1363GB downloaded, 879GB uploaded, 57:07:36:20 total time", but maybe clickable so that it shows different info with each click.

having said that, i don't see the point in fiddling with the bottom bar as it is. i prefer having the dl/ul and ratio at the bottom of the window, less eye movement from the dock that way.

I agree that it should be the best looking possible, but only if that doesn't mean compromising on the usefulness of the data shown.

Your progress bar looks beautiful, and I'd love to see it used, but that's not as important to me as getting all the information and control that I want.
