hahahafr
I was wondering how does the peer.resolve_country advanced option work ?
thelittlefire
It uses an online database to translate DNS. If you want more country flags to show in the Peer column to the left of the DNS you'd be better served by http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_is_flags.conf.3F

moogly
> peer.resolve_country: Enabling this option tells µTorrent to use an Internet database of IP addresses (a DNSBL) to determine a peer's country. Even if the settings directory contains flags.conf and flags.bmp, this option will take precedence, and the internal flag images will be used instead. moogly
peer.resolve_country = TRUE --> Internet database of IP addresses (a DNSBL)peer.resolve_country = FALSE --> internal flag list OR flags.conf/.bmp for more flags
hahahafr
I don't understand how with a DNS Blacklist you could get the country of an IP.
moogly
I dont think it's the same. Here it's just in this case a lookup table for finding out what country the IP is from.
hahahafr
So it's a private server with a database like ip2location provide and answer all the µtorrent client ? Impossible.« DNSBL » may stand for a Reverse DNS Lookup, like a Whois. But I didn't find any global registrar that provide such a service, maybe someone knows how µtorrent does to resolve the country of the peers.
