cutthroat
From the helpfile:"peer.disconnect_inactive: Enabling this option tells µTorrent to disconnect from a peer that is not transferring with you after peer.disconnect_inactive_interval seconds of inactivity. A peer gets disconnected by this option only if the connection limit has been reached. "My client is not handling it like that.I used log disconnects and the logger showed me it was disconnecting bunches of peers in intervals due to inactivity, EDIT: even though it was far from reaching connection limits! So I disabled the setting and it stopped doing that. Is this a known bug?Are there any drawbacks of having peer.disconnect_inactive set to false?
thelittlefire
Stagnant peers. Obviously if they've not sent you any data including keepalives or requests for more data... they're likely to be useless to complete your data.
cutthroat
OK that was the only drawback I could think of too, my settings have room for idle peers so it won't be a problem for me to leave the option set to false then. I don't mind the higher number of connections and it stopped the reconnect behavior, at least from my side. There's still the question if this is a bug in the client, or if the helpfile is wrong. Maybe this should be moved to the bugs section.
