scott1x Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I just downloaded a seasons worth of tv shows and when it was done, the torrent went into initial-seeding mode with a 1w3d indicator. What does this mean???? I'm not inclined to wait 1 week for anything, so should I just blow it off?
moogly Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Turn-off initial-seeding, it's useless in this case, use it only if your are the initial (or only) seeder of the torrent.Because with a correct swarm good seeded, initial-seeding will be less efficient than normal seeding.Double-click on the torrent, uncheck initial seeding (box).
scott1x Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 Did that. It continued to seed so I stopped it. Will it still share?Thx....
moogly Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Of course, initial seeding is just a specific case of seeding but it's seeding too with a different way.
Ultima Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 It continued to seed so I stopped it. Will it still share? No, it won't. You can't expect a stopped torrent to continue seeding. What does 1w3d mean? It means that it'll take you one week and 3 days to finish uploading -- that doesn't mean you can't use the files immediately. Just make sure you don't move/delete/rename/modify the files until the seeding completes.
