scott1x Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I will be out of town for the holidays and will take my hard disk with me. Is there a way to continue seeding from the new location?
moogly Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Of course.Don't forget to bring with you the whole folder %appdata%/utorrent and the folder where your .torrents are stored (the previous one by default).
scott1x Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 I'll have all folders, no problem. How do I tell uTorrent where to find the old torrent files and point to the upload folder?
moogly Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 You need to set the good path in uT.If you have a small pool of torrents to change, use right click on torrent > Advanced > Set Dwl Location and choose the good folder where are your data.If you have a ton of torrents to change, use freeware BEncode Editor http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=31306Edit the resume.dat and change in one click the path (HD letter I mean) with find/replace function. If this HD will be used as slave/ext HD, maybe you just need to copy the %appdata%/utorrent into the new HD where uT is installed.
scott1x Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 I may have it working... I've changed the configuration so that the entire project, programs, init files and data, are on the external drive. The only thing I'll have to tweak when I get there is the drive letter. Is there some way to start uTorrent is a "stopped" mode so configuration can begin before any attempt to make any connections is made?
moogly Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Use BEncode Enditor to edit resume.dat then open uT. uT will start with the right path for data.
