Zapurdead Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Look lower for the newly updated version of the guide.
Ultima Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Thanks for the guide! I've added it to the Software Firewall Configurations thread (formatted a bit). And don't ever apologize for wanting to help (unless the result of your helping does just the opposite of help ;D)Comment about the firewall rule, though... Have you tried narrowing the range down? It's not really necessary to have that many ports open (though I guess it doesn't really matter all that much either). If you ever feel like revising the firewall rules, feel free to take a look at my Comodo Firewall PRO rules, which are pretty tight in terms of how much access it provides µTorrent with (it allows pretty much the bare minimum only). Thanks again!
Zapurdead Posted December 23, 2008 Author Report Posted December 23, 2008 Thanks for posting my guide, although after reading your comments, I thinkered around a bit, and revised my guide a little. If it doesn't trouble you, could you just update that old guide of mine to this one? Thanks.First, open CA Firewall. Then click on "Firewall".Find "C:\Program Files\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe" and select it.Find at the top where it says "Advanced Application Control" and click "Edit".Click "Add".Configure the following menu like this:And you're done!
Ultima Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Hm, that probably won't work too well because µTorrent uses more than just its listening port Disregard what I said earlier, I guess.
