sumasage Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 I am running a fresh install of uTorrent 1.8.1 with most settings at default.Port 12153global max connection: 600max connect per torrent: 120DHT - disabledProtocol Encryption - enable and allow incoming legacy I am download a few torrents that have many seeds, for example (800+) and peers (6000+) but i am only connect to 5 seeds and 17 peers. Seem like all settings are ago since i can connect to them. I think with that many people in the "pool" i should at least connect to more seeds/peers. This are torrents that i am trying to download for about a week now so i did give it plenty to time to try to connect to more seeds/peers. I've also tested to see if Comcast is throttling speed but the test report they are not. I am running windows vista ultimate SP1 - dont know if the half open connection limitation is effecting this. I check the Event Viewer and does not see any event ID 4226 report. So i am not sure what could've cause this. Please help. Thanks in advance
douginiraq Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 I am having a similar issue. 3 of 7500 seeds and 3 of 6000 peers. Only difference was that mine completely quit for 3 days. Supposedly attributed to this http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122990369002025163.html?mod=googlenews_wsj I have also tried disabling DHT, Encryption, and the possible combinations of these settings. No luck.Any ideas?
sumasage Posted December 23, 2008 Author Report Posted December 23, 2008 Hmmm....i am not sure about the article you posted. I've been having this issue for over three weeks now. I dont think it has anything to do w/ that.Edit note: I'm downloading a torrent that have 13000+ seed and 11000+ peers. I am able to connect ~50 seeds and ~50 peers and getting ~220kb speed. This make me wonder if it could be the tracker or particular i am trying to download from? Of course the one i am downloading now have way more seeds/peers the other one. Any thoughts?
