primetime34 Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 I just switched from using Azureus to uTorrent (I was tired of using a resource hog). In Azureus, there was a setting so that if a torrent was at a seed speed of 0, it didn't count as an active torrent. So, if my maximum is 3 active torrents, then I could have three torrents downloading if none of my completed ones weren't uploading. Where is that setting on uTorrent? I have 5 uploading torrents, but only one is active. I have 4 downloading but none of them are downloading because there are "5" uploading torrents.EDIT::Okay, the problem is now slightly different. Nothing will download unless I force start it. I have paused all the completed torrents (there are 5 of them) and yet the ones not completed have not started downloading unless I force start them. What am I doing wrong?
Ultima Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 It's enabled by default in µTorrent, and can be found in queue.dont_count_slow_* (where queue.slow_*_threshold is the threshold bytes/second for a torrent to be considered "slow").
primetime34 Posted December 24, 2008 Author Report Posted December 24, 2008 So why aren't they downloading? (See the above edit)
Ultima Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 It doesn't take effect immediately. Queue changes can sometimes take up to a minute.
primetime34 Posted December 24, 2008 Author Report Posted December 24, 2008 Here's a screenshot of what is happening..it has been sitting this way for over 10 minutes now.Any thoughts?
Ultima Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Oh, paused torrents I'm not really sure fall under that behavior. Why don't you just stop the torrent instead of pausing it? Pausing shouldn't be used for long enough that it'd cause other torrents to start anyway -- if you want to do that, then you might as well just stop it and let others go.
primetime34 Posted December 24, 2008 Author Report Posted December 24, 2008 When I stopped them, they started working. However, why, if the ones that were 'seeding' but not really seeding, prevent anything from downloading? Here's another screenshot to explain:http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/4513/screen2nf6.pngIt seems like only 1 of them should 'count' as an active torrent. So why aren't more torrents downloading?
Switeck Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 What's your queue settings and advanced settings concerning queues?
primetime34 Posted December 25, 2008 Author Report Posted December 25, 2008 It seems to be working now that I unchecked the "give priority to upload" box. Thanks for all the help!!
