My ratio is sufferring.

Okay, so I'm downloading something on uTorrent, and I have 12 seeds, and 1 peer.

My ratio is 0.143 and falling.

I have no idea what to do.

Help?

EDIT: Now I have no peers and my ratio is 0.135

Nothing you can do but hope for more peers that want to download from you.

Ratio has sense on private trackers where you need to keep a limiting ration and to be allowed to leech.

Anyway you can reseed an old torrent to improve your ratio and increase the life duration of torrents.

As moogly says, stop downloading if you are worried about your ratio. Increase it by uploading, popular or older torrents you don't have to download.... or download from somewhere else, and only seed on the tracker.

ok, so heres a "new guy" question. Does your ratio have any effect on upload/download speeds?

No. Speeds are dependent on the swarm bandwidth (peers/seeders) and how you set your client (limiters, rate balancing etc..)

The ratio itself doesn't have a direct effect on your download speeds. If you have a low ratio, though, then it usually means you aren't uploading enough, which can negatively affect your download rates because of BitTorrent's tit-for-tat nature (give, and you'll receive).
