jay2 Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 My downloads stay at about 600KBS for a while, then just drop to about 0.02KB, re starting utorrent fixes this for a short ammount of time, this has only started over the last few daysI'm in the UK, on Vista and on a 7MB net connection.
Switeck Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 1st and 2nd links in my signature. You seem to be on a BitTorrent-hostile ISP, BT Central ADSL ISP in the UK...so you'll probably need to use Scheduler as well as encryption settings.
jay2 Posted December 25, 2008 Author Report Posted December 25, 2008 Hi, it's all set up as per the guides and has been for months, (I've checked as well just to make sure, no problem with my port or anything).
maidden Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 I am having the exactly same problem. It´s all set up like the guides and Utorrent always worked just fine. But in the past couple of days, the speed keeps dropping down to near zero. When I re startp the speed goes up for a little time and then goes down again. I even tried to put the forced Protocol Encryption. But it´s not working. Please help me!!! I´m nobody without my torrent.I am from Brazil, 6 MB connection - Internet Service Provider: Virtua
jay2 Posted December 26, 2008 Author Report Posted December 26, 2008 Thank god I'm not the only one, I've been using Utorrent since about 2005 with no problems.
Switeck Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 Try 'extreme' hiding tricks to get better speeds:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=361747#p361747(Note: My post immediately following that one explains what settings in uTorrent are similar to the Azureus ones.)
maidden Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 Still nothing for me. It´s the first time that i have these kind of problems. What could be wrong?I´m almost giving upJust spoke with some friends with the same ISP and they are not having any problems. It could be my cpu? Sould I reinstall the Utorrent?
Switeck Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 The problem is not likely to be caused by uTorrent itself -- especially if it's still v1.8.1!Chances are, you have other software on your computer interfering. ...Maybe something you installed recently?1st link in my signature, very bottom.
jay2 Posted December 26, 2008 Author Report Posted December 26, 2008 100% no from me RE installing anything.
Switeck Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 I'm not asking you to. But it seems like your hostile ISP and/or something bad on your system causing your problems.
zeozaza Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 I had the same problems a long time ago... mine got fixed when i assigned a bigger pagefile and i moved it from the C drive to another harddisk.... check if that helps
jay2 Posted December 28, 2008 Author Report Posted December 28, 2008 How? And what I mean is Switeck I have't installed anything.
moogly Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 jay2, post HJT log please.Tutorial: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=29748
jay2 Posted December 28, 2008 Author Report Posted December 28, 2008 No spyware on here (I'm an IT Tech).
Switeck Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Bad commercial software has been the primary cause of behavior like this.Just being in IT won't make you immune...in fact, (in)"security" software is often the worst.
