squalito
Hello,I'm using webui 0.361 and I'd like to know how works this functionMenu --> Add TorrentTorrent Url --> OKCookies --> WHAT IS IT ? what do we have to set here ?Indeed, does the cookies is used to send to the tracker our id (for example, if we have a seedbox utorrent without http access tp connect to the private tracker) ??Just to know what is the Cookies option. Thanks by advanceRegardspascal
thelittlefire
Yes, if the site requires cookies, usually some hashed form of userid and password.... You can find them by filtering your cookies by site domain in your browser (Seen it done in Safari, Firefox. . .Chrome, dunno bout IE... but if you use IE you have larger problems )Merry Christmas, or holiday season as you see fit
squalito
ThanksHmm yet it doesn't seem to work. I'll do some others tests. Also, do you know what is the recommanded RAM for a config like this :- Utorrent webui on linux box using wine- 100Mbits port I'm trying to define how much ram I'd have to set if I create this config under a VPSThanks again and mary christmas too
thelittlefire
Well RAM in regards to uT is for disk cache. Depending on the disks, or your usage, you can use anywhere from default 32 to the 1.5 or so gigs which are the limit for 32-bit addressing (2 gig per process, which acounting for overhead leaves < 1500). If you like alot of data, keeping it low enough for sustained throughput to disk should suffice. If you like less data, but for longer, make more usage to buffer the torrent data from RAM... As far as the webui question at hand... did you search your cookies for the relevant site? :/ All sites are unique even though there are several generic packages most trackers use. squalito
Thanks. Well so I think a 512MB of ram should be ok for a vps with only webui (maybe 256 as I would create few vps per server) ...How do you enter few fields in the cookies field. For this website I have a uid and a password field. The problem is that the website (torrenttrader) register and save the IP I use to connect in (website). So yet, I have to create a proxy http to be able to connect to this web site from my computer but using my seedbox's IP.I thought I could use the cookie option to not have to use a proxy http (which will force me to configure a proxy http on every vps)Thanks for your help
thelittlefire
I don't know anything about proxies. However, if the tracker doesn't like multiple connections you should respect their wishes. If however they allow multiple connections, simply the cookie information coupled with your specific announce URLs including your personal information should suffice. If the tracker makes it any harder... i'd suggest choosing a new one. :/ Sorry I can't answer your question.
