utorrent dl'ing fine but no connect with browsers

im using a wireless router and sometimes the internet drops and I can't connect using any browsers, but I notice that utorrent is still downloading/uploading at its normal rate. How can this be?

Because you're using over-aggressive settings on a sub-standard router most likely.

my router is netgear rangemax 240 wpnt834. Is that a substandard router? thought it was pretty good.

this doesn't happen all the time though. Its just every once in awhile my browsers seem to be not connected while my utorrent client is business as usual.

*edit - it's definitely not over-aggressive settings. I've got two computers and both are not able to connect to the internet (via browsers), even when I close out of the utorrent client on my main computer.
