x3rg1sWorse Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 Say I put new downloads in h:/DOWNLOADS folder and completed downloads are moved into h:/COMPLETED folder. Then I download a dvd movie. When it's FINISHED I force recheck it and it turns out that the file is only completed 98% due to hash fails. It's now that I get an interesting bug. In folder COMPLETED uTorrent creates another folder called DOWNLOADS and moves the DVD MOVIE FOLDER into it (H:/completed/downloads/a_dvd_movie_folder instead of the original H:/DONWLOADS/the_dvd_movie_folder folder) and at the same time it creates a new version of the corrupt file in THE ORIGINAL DOWNLOADS folder (H:/downloads).I didn't get the chance to test it thoroughly because some .vob files don't show any content even if they are not corrupt (at least when you try and open them in a media player) but it appears that given that uTorrent needs to download only another 2% it actually does so but the file itself remains corrupt because in reality it's empty (2% complete) as the real file is still is in the COMPLETED/DOWNLOADS folder. So you end up with a 98% completed file in completed/downloads folder and a 2% completed file in downloads folder. Needless to say that they're both corrupt.I want to point out that the issue can't arise if the finished downloads aren't moved into another folder and there're no hash fails.I understand that my explanation is completely confused and difficult to understand but there it is, the issue exists.Another issue I have encountered is easier to describe.' Unable to load "{it's always a strange symbol I'm unable to reproduce}": The system cannot find the file specified. ! 'I have used search, read a couple of topics and think that my problem is slightly different. So, say, I reinstalled my Windows clean, installed uTorrent and need to add the existing .torrent files into the download list. There are 369 .torrent files in my .torrent folder, which is, by the way, set manually in settings.I click File -> Add Torrent... then press Ctrl+A to select all and press Enter. The error message window pops up.But it's not that it doesn't add permanently. I just have to divide my task, say, into 10 parts and thus select about 37 torrents. When I do this it adds them. The interesting feature is that the file name that it says it has been unable to load always contains the non-English characters.P.S. I just want to share what, in my opinion, can be improved in uTorrent because I like the client. However, if this has been discussed before or found useless I won't have a grudge if you close the topic.{ADDED}Another feature that can be improved is that I've got 4 different downloads named VIDEO_TS. They overwrite each other and make mess. To rectify this wrong uTorrent could assign a new folder (say, VIDEO_TS, VIDEO_TS(1), VIDEO_TS(2), etc.) each time the names coincide.
