torlia
i am having a heck of a time setting this thing up i have run through the port forwarding instructions twice now using diffrent port #s and still the same message i am running torrent 1.4 on windows xp. i run the port test and it says it's checking port 68.148.167.192 which is not a number i have seen when i went through the port forwarding section , i have a cable moden hooked to a d link ethernet router and the port settting i went through were for the router, also all the numbers for static ip and dns servers were the default numbers on the port forwarding web site but when i open torrent i still get nat error and download speeds of 7.5kBs and upload of23.4kBs and an error message that the port is not open .I am not sure what to try next
Xarathos
I feel your pain as I am having a similar problem. My ISP is RCN and I am using a Motorola WR850G router. The computer I am running utorrent on is connected to the router by a lan cable. I followed the instructions on portforward, set my three computers to static IP's and set this one up as a virtual server. The firewall on the router is disabled and I enabled UPnP. I have disabled the firewall on this computer. And still I get "NAT error". My download speed vary frequently between 30 k/Bs to 50k/Bps. The upload speed also vary frequently between 80 k/Bs to 90+ k/Bs. Any ideas suggestions? Maybe a new router, any particular one?
slayers
To both of you, DON'T use the virtual server of your d-link. Create a direct rule in Advanced->Firewall.

Create a direct rule in Advanced->Firewall.I am using a Motorola WR850G not a D-Link product. And I don't have sp2, I use Zone Alarm Free. I have tried disabling Zone Alarm and that didn't help the NAT error problem. Thanks anyway.
