Move torrents

Hi there,

I am very new to torrents and utorrent. When I download a torrent, it automatically goes into my downloads folder. I wanted to move the files to a new folder (to keep them organized), but when I go back to utorrent, there is an "x" by all of the torrents. I moved them back to the download folder and then the "x" disappeared.

I've searched in the other forums and it says to change the location of the file, you need to right click > Advanced > Set Dwl Location. However, when I right click on my mac, there isn't those options.

Any thoughts on how I can move my files to a new location, while still allowing others to download (I think it's called seed)?

Thanks.

You cannot change them to a new location via the UI or any provided method. You can however edit the resume.dat file with http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=31306 via WINE or in a Windows VM. The layout is the same, as the bencoding engine, but it's not known whether a direct port of a windows resume.dat will work on mac, after first changing all data and path locations via Find/Replace All.

That is also correct, you're not seeing things, the uT/Mac UI is incomplete for feature parity with the windows version.

Thanks for this -- although I am VERY new to downloading torrents and unfortunately don't understand much of what you have said :) What is a UI? What is a resume.dat file? WINE? Windows VM? Bencoding engine? Direct port?

Any help translating this to "plain language" is much appreciated :)
