Sawyer22 Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Well I'm superseding and normal seeding since 5 days on 2 massive torrenst which are both together 82GB.I couldn't get utorrent to upload at full speed 98% of the time in normal seed mode. When I got angry about hitnrunners I tried superseed mode. Here is where the problem arised. I couldnt even use more then 10% of my upload stable. It jumped up and down and so on.Now I tried Vuze for fun. And look at it. I set it in super seed mode and it already maxed out my upload fully stable since several minutes. Utorrent wasn't able to archive this only at maybe max 2% of the time and then only when I had a peer from my own country who could trees my connection.
Switeck Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Exactly what settings were you using in both?If vastly different...try duplicating what you were using in Vuze in uTorrent.
Sawyer22 Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 Same settings. I started utorrent again and cant reach more then 1.3MB/s but vuze can jump to 2.32MB/s easy.
Switeck Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 What are the settings you are using so others can attempt to test them?(...and maybe uTorrent devs can then FIX it!)
Sawyer22 Posted December 30, 2008 Author Report Posted December 30, 2008 well the torrent has 33 peers and one seeder, me. Both have 30 upload slots. Vuze is set to share rarest pices first. Utorrent is as it is by default
Switeck Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 What about half open settings, encryption, connect rate?
Sawyer22 Posted December 30, 2008 Author Report Posted December 30, 2008 all other is default 8 half open, encription not required in vuze, utorrent 8 half open and encription enabled. I guess this are the same settings.right now I get a little better upload speeds like up 1.8MB/s, all the way from 1.6-1.8MB/s in utorrent but Vuze steal reaches 2.4MB/s on the same torrent without problems and in much less time.both have round 2500 connections globaly and 1200 per torent. Since the torrent only has 33-36 peers it doesnt really matter or? No speed limits on both ofcourse.I did also try the 1.9.xxx build. Its even worse with reaching higher speeds. I vrtiually cant do it with the just one torrent. Not even with 2 or 3.I had always problems with reaching my uploads also since i have this fiber connection but always put it to the fact thats most likely other people just limit there connection or it just cant go faster then that. Since only more or less everybody from my country could download at over 1.5MB/s or whatever was left but others usually didn't. Some did from time to time but most did not.EDIT: I'm also going to format my computer any minute now and I will install utorrent and vuze by default then to make sure nothing is modified.EDIT2:Uploading like that for almost one hour now and it not even once dropping belowI also made sure there is no one super leecher who could take most from me and smudder the results in all cases. So I dont really see and faul play here since the other clients who are downloading most are utorrent clients.EDIT3: Now after formating. UL seems to be restored to max in utorrent. Must have been utorrent 1.9.xxx messing up some settings then since they both start from same settings. I better dont run that version anymore then. Or is there a way to export the current utorrent settings and store them?
Switeck Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 A serious bug was found in initial seeding:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=52234http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=52253...supposedly fixed in the next v1.9 alpha release.
