NoOneButMe
In order to seed, just leave uTorrent open after you are done downloading.
thelittlefire
You automatically become a seed when you finish downloading. http://dessent.net/btfaq/#what explains some things about bittorrent.
Sheerly
I'm just wondering how do you seed a torrent before downloading like usual? The question is about seeding a pre existing torrent, one that is already on the internet.I saw allot of directions on how to do that, but they only do it on Windows.Sorry if this seems complicated, and thank you for managing to help me. NoOneButMe
If you have the files on you computer already, move them to uTorrent's download dir and open the torrent. It will check the data and start seeding.

Yongary
I have the same question as the OP, which NOBODY has answered. On the PC version of uTorrent, you can create and be the initial seeder of a torrent, as seen in this guide: http://utorrent.com/torrent.php. What the OP (and I as well) would like to know is how to do this on the mac version of uTorrent, or if this is even possible.
NoOneButMe
You don't have the same question and uTorrent for mac can't create torrents yet.
rmitchell
Sheerly,Would you please post the direction you saw that show how to do this on windows? That will show us exactly what you're looking to do and we'll be able to help you.
djh816
Sheerly, "seeding" a torrent simply means you have the entire file and are giving it to others. You wouldn't get a faster download speed by seeding a file as it is not possible to be a "seed" without having the entire file. Your friend probably mean that the more "seeds" you have, the faster your download will go. This information is available from the torrent site (most likely) as well as in the details of the currently downloading torrent in uTorrent.
