kukoman
i got some errors when skip file download of an torrent with multiple files, i initially uncheck to download some files, and status in utorrent 1.8.1 says skip, but still it downloads pieces of that file fragments anyway?Actually the download progress is about the same for skipped files, and unskipped files ? moogly
What kind of pieces ? Edge pieces (look at File tab) ?If yes, so it's normal. In addition if you have a piece size larger than some ignored files, uT will dwl them because of piece overlaying. thelittlefire
If you don't want it creating files you skipped, enable Ctrl-P > Advanced > diskio.use_partfile. Right now the parts of files which are downloaded are as moogly says, they overlap with other files you do want.

moogly
1/ Can you report the size of your torrent ?2/ As you skipped files in the torrent, can you check the size of utorrent_Partfile.dat in your torrent folder and report here.3/ Can you post a screenshot of your File tab: right click on the header of a column, add "First piece" column, apply an ascending sorting with the First piece column, make your screenshot.Host here: http://imageshack.us/

moogly
Ok the piece size is 4MB.Your torrent is huge and you skipped a ton of files. A partifle of 78MB is only 0.14% of your whole size, nothing that might be suspect.
