reddirtgirl Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 My ISP forced me to upgrade my modem recently. Prior to the upgrade, I always had a green icon at the bottom of utorrent. Ever since the new modem, I have a red icon and can't seem to get rid of it. I am still able to connect to a few seeds and leeches, but not many. My ISP admits to having "an unresolvable NAT issue", but this has always been the case, not just since my modem upgrade.I'm running WinXP, with NO router. Can anyone advise on possible tweaking of a setting to get rid of the red icon and allow me to connect more effectively? Thanks!
reddirtgirl Posted December 31, 2008 Author Report Posted December 31, 2008 It's HughesNet's own modem, model 7000S. That's what I'm stuck with out here in the boonies, satellite internet.
thelittlefire Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 And it doesn't have what looks to be any port forwarding pages under setup? Good old HN, providing reality for those in the real world Are you sure you haven't gone over their quota allowances... they're pretty open and therefore strict about it.
reddirtgirl Posted January 1, 2009 Author Report Posted January 1, 2009 No, haven't gone over their quota. There IS no setup to the modem, just plug in the ethernet cable and go. I can't even call them for help since they frown upon torrenting.
